About

"Music is the most direct art, it enters through the ear and goes to the heart... It is the universal language of humanity"

Musician Santiago Galeano has recorded and performed extensively since the late 2000s. Galeano's most consistent output over the years has taken place as a drummer in the rock band format. Starting in 2013, he released a total of four records. Two of these were with his progressive/hard rock power trio Policromía: De ánimos partir (2014) - El Desconcierto (2016). The other two were from his other Rock/Pop band Billy Zabaleta: Los Autonautas de la Cosmopista (2015) - Las Reglas Arbitrarias (2017).

In addition to his drumming experience, Galeano has also performed as a jazz pianist in the Argentinean music scene from a very young age, starting with his High School Ensemble in Buenos Aires. At age 20 he graduated from Escuela De Música Contemporánea and moved to Boston to attend Berklee College Of Music. He graduated with honors as a Bachelor of Music in Piano Performance in 2019. He currently performs regularly in the New England area music scene.

Galeano’s musical personality forms a dichotomy. He is first and foremost an improviser, and greatly cherishes the art of working with jazz musicians and creating interesting harmonic and melodic ideas spontaneously, in real time.

But he also has a deep fascination for the formal architecture of music, and feels extremely comfortable within the limitations of the rock song format.  The two sides of Galeano’s personality—the improviser and the formalist—play off each other, and the effect is often something like controlled chaos.
